Privacy policy
What this website collects, why, and how you can have it changed or deleted. Last updated 14 October 2026.
Who is responsible
This website is run by ITSM Compass, an independent consultancy based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. For any privacy question or request, email info@itsmcompass.com.
What we collect
What you choose to send through a form on this site, plus anonymous counts of page views and five events (see Plausible Analytics below):
- Contact form — your name, email, phone number and company if you provide them, and your message.
- Free ITSM maturity assessment — your answers are scored in your browser and are not sent anywhere unless you submit the follow-up form. If you do, we receive your name, work email, company (optional), your overall score, level and score by area.
- Newsletter sign-up — your email address and, optionally, your company website.
ITSM Compass Lab tools — files you open in a tool, such as a ticket export, and the figures you type are processed in your browser. They are not uploaded to us or anyone else.
Some tools keep a little in this browser's storage so you don't have to retype it: the GCC business hours calendar you set up, and, after the service desk dashboard reads an export or its sample data, the file name and its top 12 categories with yearly volumes, which the shift-left calculator can load. It stays on your device and is never sent to us; clearing this site's data in your browser removes it. The dashboard's "Open in RCA analyser" link passes one candidate to the analyser through this tab's session storage, and the analyser deletes it as soon as it reads it; otherwise it goes when you close the tab.
Site guide (Find the right tool) — runs in your browser, like the Lab tools. What you type into its search box is never sent to us or anyone else, and is not saved.
The site does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and does not run analytics that identify you.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and, if you ask for it, prepare a proposal.
- To review assessment results you send and reply with suggested next steps.
- If you leave your address for article alerts, to send you one note when those alerts launch. It is not used for anything else.
Your details are never sold or shared for marketing.
Services that process your data
- Netlify hosts the website and receives form submissions.
- Calendly handles bookings if you choose to schedule a call; its own privacy policy applies there.
- WhatsApp (Meta) carries any conversation you start with the WhatsApp button; its own privacy policy applies there.
- Trustpilot is where clients can leave independent reviews of our work. A review link takes you to Trustpilot, and if the review widget is switched on, your browser connects to Trustpilot when that section comes into view; Trustpilot's own privacy policy applies there.
- Plausible Analytics counts page views and four events on tools and links, plus a fifth in the site guide, all with no cookies: a Lab tool being opened, a tool showing its result, a copy, download or print button being pressed, a click on a link to book a call, to the ITSM health check page or to the page for the book, and an answer being chosen in the site guide. A click on either link in the suggested next step under a Lab tool's result, whatever page it points to, counts as the same link event. The events carry only the tool's name, the kind of button, where on the page the link sat and which guide answer was chosen, never anything you type or upload. Plausible uses your IP address and browser type only to tell one day's visits apart, through a hash that changes daily, and does not store them. Like most analytics it also records the referring site, country, device type and browser, as aggregate counts. Figures identify nobody, and with Plausible's own cloud service (the script address set here) the data is hosted in the EU; Plausible's own privacy policy applies there.
- Email — replies and notifications are handled through our business mailbox.
Some of these providers store data outside the UAE.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and assessment submissions are kept for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and deleted within 24 months of our last contact unless we are working together. Article-alert addresses are kept until the alerts launch or you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can withdraw consent to emails at any time. Email info@itsmcompass.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change with it.
